To be GRAMMY nominated...

Yesterday I was chillin w/the homie JFK at his studio. His boys came through and it turns out they had just flown into town for the Grammy's. Through conversation I come to find out that one of them, Dot Da Genius (lowkey had to google that b/c I forgot his name, oops), is actually NOMINATED for a Grammy for producing Cudi's track for "Day n Night". Mind you, I didn't know this guy on a personal level, met him that hour, but hearing about his Grammy nomination made me proud for him. He's where a lot of people aim to be... Grammy nominated. I can respect it. He's where I KNOW my peoples WILL be... Grammy nominated. I can respect it. Kudos to him, I really hope he wins. Kudos to my peoples, cuz I know yall are in it to win it too. I can respect it. :)

Truthfully...

The fact that I have 3 older brothers who used to punk and fight me, may have led to me developing a thick skin. The way I speak sometimes can give off this "tough exterior" vibe, but truthfully, sometimes when I'm alone... I cry too.

In Search of Stoney Jackson release at Fat Beats

Last night me and my homies JFK and Damian made it out to Fat Beats on Melrose to support my good friends, Strong Arm Steady and the release of In Search of Stoney Jackson (produced by Madlib). I don't have any pictures of their performance b/c I was too busy feelin myself, the beats, & the effects of my 40oz infiltrating my system. But if you peep the above twit pix you already know... Just Keep Spinning...

People die, relationships fall apart, but the world keeps spinning.

Individually, we are all just a crumb of the universe really. In comparison to the infinite light-years of space, our personal problems and hardships are trivial. No matter how grand our individual struggles may feel on a personal scale, the world WILL indeed keep spinning and eventually, so will we.

Time really does heal all wounds.

HOPE FOR HAITI NOW

I know I haven't blogged about Haiti yet, but I've definitely tweeted up a storm raising awareness, I've donated clothes, I've donated money, and I participated in the JBC Haiti Benefit Relief Concert.

It's important for us to remember that even when the media dies down, it doesnt mean the problems in Haiti will. Do what you can to CONTINUE to support the cause and the people in Haiti. Here are a few of the tweets I posted that I felt should be shared again...

The telethon will feature performances from some of the biggest names in entertainment. Gather your family and friends, and be sure to watch and participate in this telethon. We have the opportunity to raise MILLIONS of dollars in one evening to rebuild this nation... and please believe it's going to take a lot more than that, but it's a start.

Before Ray J got his skankasaurus show, there was Raydiation and the album was actually really fucking good (hard to believe?). I was listening to this song, "Let's Play House" (one of my faves on the album aside from "Melody" of course) and I got to thinking as much as I'm ready to "play house" with someone, there is only one person I can really think of who even fits my standards to make me willing (please understand the difference between ready and willing). The best part about this guy? I've known him for almost 5 years and before anything, we're really good friends. We've had an interesting friendship, but I'm thankful for it. So thank you "LA" for understanding me like no one else has been able to -- I'd never give him that much credit to his face though =P. There is money to be made, we gotta feed the kids, so "til death do us part" remember? ;)
